I’m still blown …
I’m still blown away by the brilliance of Rahsaan Roland Kirk.
The thought of playing 3 instruments simultaneously, the seemingly impossible feat (in my view anyway ’cause I can’t do it) of circular breathing, and the innovative ways to make music, such as using the nose to play a flute.
Simply mind-boggling.

Bobbi Humphrey was the first flautist I took seriously, from the LP ‘Dig this’. Only female flautist I’ve seen do recordings! ‘Japser country man’ and ‘Harlem river drive’ are her best-known.
I also highly rate the artist Harold McNair (with John Cameron).
